Three days ago when I was playing basketball with friends, one of my friend’s knees drove into my thigh when he was running towards the hoop. I had to stop playing for a few minutes and I was in a lot of pain. I could walk but not without a noticeable limp. I also had trouble bending my knee. I can walk normally again but now, the tendons/muscles on the side of my left knee are in pain (especially after sitting for extended periods of time). Do I have a quad contusion? Also, is it normal for the pain to migrate from the quad to the side of the knee? How should I treat? What types of activity should I avoid?
