Psychiatry

Student Health & Wellness provides mental health care under the direction of staff psychiatrists. Visits to the psychiatrist are free if the student has paid the health fee. A liaison exists with both The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Psychiatry Service and the University Counseling Service.

Free online screening via our website for Depression, Alcohol, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder is available. This free screening is made available to all University of Iowa students. The screening is taken anonymously and results are available in a few minutes. The purpose of the screening is to determine whether a disorder is likely, not to make a diagnosis. Information on referral resources is provided.
