Students Traveling Internationally

In order to meet international travel requirements for countries that require negative tests for both COVID-19 PCR and IgM antibodies shortly prior to boarding, the UIHC is now offering these tests. Students can have these arranged through Student Health; community members need to inquire with UIHC.

Specific requirements have been published for travel to China.

Please carefully review the specified timing of tests and the instructions for submitting your test to the appropriate offices in order to be cleared to travel.

Students should contact our Nurseline to discuss plans and help you get scheduled for these tests.  For travel to China, you will need to have the test in the morning, one or two days before your flight leaves.  Student Health can order both tests for students- the IgM test is a blood draw and will be done at Student Health, or at the IRL if needed on Saturdays.  The COVID-19 PCR test is done at the UIHC Urgent Care Clinic on Holiday Road, or the Family Care Center drive through testing center.

You will need MyChart access- we can send you a link to sign up when you call our schedulers.  You will need to pre-pay for these tests through MyChart (the IgM is $125 and the PCR is $182.70).
