We have gotten a few questions from international students and those who've been home and received a COVID-19 vaccine in their home country, regarding the need to re-vaccinate when they get here to the UI.  (COVID-19 vaccines are not required at the UI, but of course we would like students to be vaccinated!) 

As long as the vaccine received is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), there is no need for re-vaccination.  The following COVID-19 vaccines are approved by the WHO as of 5/13/21: 

• Pfizer-BioNTech (COMIRNATY, Tozinameran)
• AstraZeneca-Oxford (Covishield, Vaxzevria)
• Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) 
• Moderna
• Sinopharm
• Sinovac
