Students should complete the MyChart Self-Checker to report symptoms, their risk level and appropriate next steps for testing. There will be charges to your insurance for testing through UI Healthcare (Quick Care).  Other options for testing include a Test Iowa take-home saliva test kit, or tests for purchase at local pharmacies.

Students can always call Student Health at 319-335-8394 to schedule a visit to talk to a provider with questions and concerns about symptoms.  Student Health can order tests for students.  Call the Nurseline at 319-335-9704 to speak to a nurse.

Student Health has a supply of free Test Iowa take-home saliva test kits.  Come to the Westlawn Clinic or the IMU Nurse Care clinic to pick one up (there's a bin just inside clinic doors, while supplies last)  or look for a pick-up site in the community.   . You can order a test kit directly from the Test Iowa site and it will be sent to you. You can drop off at the Student Health Westlawn clinic, IMU Nurse Care or any other drop off site listed on the website.  Check for IMU Nurse Care hours of operation, as this clinic is closed for breaks.

If you need a test for travel, home visits or events, you should use the Test Iowa saliva test kits or purchase a test from a local pharmacy.

Students who need testing for international travel should review all travel guidelines carefully.  Call our Nurseline with questions.

If you received a positive test result, remember to fill out the UI Self Reporting form

Here is a good resource for information from UI Healthcare, regarding what to do if you test positive or are exposed.
