COVID-19

The latest COVID booster was released in September 2023. If you have not had a COVID shot since mid-September, come and see us!  You can walk into the nurse clinic at the IMU or schedule a time that works for you at Westlawn.

Who should get the updated COVID-19 vaccine?

Even if you have had previous COVID shots or had COVID, your immunity has likely waned.   Healthy adults can experience severe disease. Protect your loved ones and friends before you spend time together. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone age 6 months and older should receive a 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of previous COVID-19 infection.

Does in matter if I’ve never been vaccinated against COVID-19, or if I’ve not completed a primary series or received any boosters?

For most people, a single dose of the 2023-2024 vaccine is recommended, regardless of previous vaccination history.

INFLUENZA

Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine every season with rare exceptions.  Vaccination is particularly important for people who are at higher risk of serious complications from flu. The vaccine can keep you from getting sick with the flu and reduce severity of illness if you do get sick. It also has been shown to reduce hospitalizations.

Can I get the flu and covid shots at the same time?

Yes! It is safe and effective for eligible people to receive this combination at the same time.
