Excessive time using screens or “doom scrolling” has been shown to be detrimental to your health. Negative impacts include increased risk for depression and anxiety, poor quality of sleep, less physical activity, weight gain, and harm to relationships. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Tricks and ideas to help limit screen time:
- Do things that help you forget about your phone (set it aside or in another room altogether). Get back to favorite hobbies such as reading, painting, exercising, getting outside.
- Set a sleep timer so the phone never wakes you from sleep.
- Limit apps on your phone, no checking emails etc.
